At least the first part of this citation (found on a bag that you can order in the fan shop of the great band BOY) was definetily not true for all the moving action going on the last four weeks, which is the reason for the long period of silence. I finally got my own flat in Ulm, my new home town, got fast internet again and even telefone!!! It took so long to find this flat, so parts of my stuff first moved into a lovely little guest room and after three weeks had to be moved again to my place in Ulm Oststadt. My mum had to send a lot of parcels and my uncle, visiting his family that, lucky for me, lives around the corner, could bring me my beloved furniture. Yesterday, my sister and her family was here to help me get the last things, put little shelfs on the walls and rearrange my furniture. We moved everything around and then put them back where they were in the first place. So now only the kitchen is, compared to the other rooms, a bit "behind". But lucky for us, the father of Theresa (one of my two housemate, Leila, a french girl is the other one) offered to stay until Tuesday to create us the kitchen from the cupboards we bought from a neighbor, the fridge we got from out landloard and the washing maschine we happened to have ourselves. As soon as the kitchen is done, I will try to post some pictures.
Looking at what felt like a million rooms in shared flat, I found them all to be very alike. Everybody seems to have a set of IKEA-furniture and be inspired by the catalogue which makes them all look pretty much the same. Don't get me wrong, I really like IKEA and they have great ideas (I really want the desk where you have a top part that you can just close when you dont want to see all the mess of your work anymore. Perfect for my very messy working style). But here in Ulm, where the IKEA is only 1.5 kilometer from the center, it seems to get a bit to much of IKEA-individualism, turning it into IKEA-mainstream. So for me, I decided to go a different direction and to add some old pieces to my collection of furniture. I already have a beautiful white sideboard from the Netherlands where they perfected the idea of reusing stuff by opening big shops that sell furniture, clothes and everything else you can thing of. Here in Ulm, I also found a shop called "Trödelmarkt" in the Söflinger Str. 203. The owners turned an old house with two stories and a big cellar into a nice second-hand store. If you ever happen to be here, bring some time to find your way and find the treasures among the trash. I found a wonderful closet of dark brown wood with some nice carvings there and the owner of the shop will deliever it on Tuesday. I can't wait to make all this mess that I would rather keep a secret disappear in the closet!
And then my load will be light and my secrets be safe again <3
