Praha --- my love

Time to tell you about the wonderful weekend that I spent in Praha. Clément and I took the opportunity to visit Michala, a good friend from Sweden, and her boyfreind in their home town. Another friend who I met during my time as an intern had by coincidence a friend in Praha as well, so we all met up there to visit the city. It was a wonderful weekend with minus 15 degrees. I love to be guided around by people that know a city so well and Michala and Olda, both born and raised in the middle of Praha were the perfect guides for us. We arrived on Friday night and just spent the time chatting and trying out weird workout maschines that Michalas sister bought on one of those tv channels that only send commercials. It was so nice to see Michala again and there was a lot to catch up.
The next day we went to see the old city. It was sunny but crazy cold but our hosts prepared for that by picking out little cafés and souvenir shops and tourist informations to warm up again. We saw a lot of Mucha and I wished I had the time to go to the museum. We visited an exhibition with old pictures of Praha and it's so nice to discover that most of the buildings still exist. The evening was the highlight of the day. We went to a super nice veggie-restaurant and ate food that we all could and would have died for...
Then we went to the opera and we watched SWAN LAKE! It was my first ballet and I loved it from the first second that it started! I could have cried in the old opera, the red velvet seats, Clément next to me making fun of the men in tights :) Too bad that we didn't have the time to put on some appropriate clothes but we had to hurry there from the restaurant. So we were standing there a little uncomfortable during the break among all the well-dressed people in our  snow boats and big jumpers. So obviously the tourists with no sense of taste... After the ballet we changed :) and then we left to a club to dance a bit. But we were tired soon and took the bus home again playing some stupid childrens games.
The next day, Michala showed us her neighborhood. We walked through a big park and then went to a little pub to have some traditional czech food and try their beer that they make in their own brewery. And soon after we found ourselves packing our bags, rushing through the city to find our car sharing for the way home and spending our last crownes on tons of amazing czech sweets.

A little bag for a wonderful friend...

One of my best friends just got her master in psychology! (Applause, please!!) Unfortunately I could not be there with her to support her like she did for me, so I wanted to send her a special present to make up for it. I went to a second hand store and bought some Old-Lady-Skirts. I cut one of them and brought it into the typical baggy shape by rounding the edges a bit and adding the handles. And to make it a bit more Laura-like I added some flower fabric and put it around the top like a little belt.

I hope the bag will fulfill its duty and carries around all the things that are dear to her!

All the best to you, Laura, M. Sc.!! <3
